Nature Sketching

Join the inaugural Borneo Bird Festival 2009 and learn Nature Sketching with Malaysia’s renowned wildlife artist Teh Yew Kiang.

Take part in Borneo’s first Borneo Bird Festival, 10-15th October 2009 and you’ll get a chance to join renowned wildlife artist Teh Yew Kiang as he conducts personalised sessions on Nature Art & Sketching  on 14th & 15th October at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sandakan, Sabah.

Teh Yew Kiang, argueably, one of Malaysia’s leading nature and wildlife artist will go back to the basics with both sketching and art techniques that will help budding artists for all age group 14 years and above. Family groups and even students of the natural sciences are encouraged to register and be inspired by Teh and the natural surroundings offered by Sabah.

Registration fee: RM10 per session per person

  1. first come first serve  basis
  2. limited to 15 participants per session.

Basic sketching materials will be provided by the organizers but participants are encouraged to bring their own materials.

All proceeds of the Borneo Bird Festival will be channeled towards bird conservation programme in Sabah to be announced at the Festival.

About The Artist - Teh Yew Kiang

1956- Born in Sungai Siput, Perak
1978- Graduated from Malaysian Institute of Art
1988- Solo show at Creative Centre National Art Gallery, Malaysia
1993- Solo show at Amoda Building, KL
1990 to 2004 - Participated in various group shows and selected exhibitons. Involved in nature conservation projects for NGOs.
