REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION

1. Entry forms are available at :

   Kota Kinabalu	:	Reception counter at Sabah Tourism Board, Jalan Gaya
   Sandakan	:	Sandakan Foto outlets (Sandakan town and Mile 4, Bandar KimFung) or Rainforest Discovery Centre(RDC), Sepilok.

2. Registration Fee of RM10 per entry will be imposed and proceeds of this race and other activities of the Borneo Bird Festival 2011 will be channeled towards important Bird Conservation programmes in Sabah.
3. Closing date for registration and payment is 14th October, 2011 by 3.00pm at the Contest Registration Booth in Rainforest Discovery Centre.
4. The race will commence on 15th October 2011 from 0600hrs to 1700hrs on the same day at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sepilok, Sandakan. Entries must be submitted to the organizers before 1730hrs on 15th October.
5. Any late entries after 1730hrs on Saturday, 15th October 2011, will be penalized at the rate of one species per minute. The organizer will stop accepting entries at 1730hrs that same day, at which point teams that have not submitted their entries would be deemed on holiday and disqualified with our thanks and well wishes!

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

1. This contest is open to all Malaysian and International participants.
2. Students are encouraged to join.
3. Photographs must be a Wild Bird of Borneo.
4. The Bird Photography Race will be held at the Sepilok Forest Reserve and its' surrounding.
5. Photographs of bird nesting or in the nests will be disqualified.
6. Bird Photos must be taken from 0600hrs to 1700hrs on 15th October 2011
7. The photographs, in its entirely, must be a single work of original material taken by the contest entrant. Bird Photos must be 'IDENTIFIABLE'. Each participant may identify the BIRD SPECIE when possible.
8. Photos must be taken with digital camera.
9. Submit a Digital Copy only in low-resolution at least 500KB.
10. All entries must be original, must show original JPG image file with the date and time of capture.
11. Optimization of images or colour correction, colour contrast, brightness is acceptable, as is cropping. The entries are non-returnable. Participants retain the copyright of the photographs submitted. However, the WINNING entries may be used or reproduced by the organisers for promotional purposes of future Borneo Bird Festival and Photo Credit will be acknowledged.
12. The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to an entry.
13. JUDGING Contest consists of one (1) round of evaluation. A panel of Wildlife Photographers and Bird experts will evaluate all eligible entries based on the following Judging Criteria:
1. CLARITY OF IMAGE
2. BIRD SPECIE MUST BE IDENTIFIABLE
3. HIGHEST NUMBER OF IDENTIFIABLE BIRD PHOTO.
Decisions of the Judges are final and binding. Winners will be notified via phone and email.

WINNING PHOTOS will be displayed on LCD projector screen by the organizers and Prize giving ceremony to be held at RDC, Sepilok on 16th October 2011 at 4.00pm
